Exchange collections can be used to create course templates, copy content from another course, and collaborate with other instructors. You can create a copy of any shared content and add the content to an existing course or a new course.
Joining an Exchange Collection
Save an Exchange Collection from the Course Catalog to your Collections tab by selecting the Collection and Join.
You may also be added to a private Exchange Collection. If you have been added to a private Exchange Collection (one not shared to the Course Catalog) you will automatically see that Collection on your Collections page, under the Exchange tab.
Copying from an Exchange Collection You've Joined
After joining an Exchange Collection, select 'Collections' from left navigation menu.
- Click the collection card to view the content within the collection.
- To view the content in more detail, select the course title and expand any modules to view the content within the sections.
- Select the copy icon on the far right to add the content to an existing course or create a new course. You can copy the shared course, unit, or lesson.

- When choosing create a new course, you will be prompted to create a new course name and edit the course code if you would like.
- The new course will automatically contain the copied content. As the course manager on this new course you are able to edit the copied content to meet your needs.
- When choosing to add to an existing course, use the drop down menu to choose which course the content should be added to.
- Content added to the existing course can now be edited by any collaborators with the proper permissions.
Copying from an Exchange Collection in the Course Catalog
When browsing the Course Catalog, any lesson, unit, or course that has been shared to an Exchange Collection can be copied to a new or existing course.
- Click the collection card to view the content within the collection.
- To view the content in more detail, select the course title and expand any modules to view the content within the sections.
- Select the copy icon on the far right to add the content to an existing course or create a new course. You can copy the shared course, unit, or lesson.
