Courses can be copied and used as templates for other courses. As an instructor, you can create templates, as well as use templates found in the Course Catalog or within collections to help build new courses.
Create a Course Template
- Build a course to act as a template for other courses.
- Build units and lessons, and include any content that will be contained in multiple courses.
- Follow the guidance below to share or copy the course to use as a template
Share Course Templates using Exchange Collections
- Create an Exchange Collection, add courses to an exchange collection, and invite other instructors to join the exchange collection.
- Exchange collections are only available to instructors.
- Search the Course Catalog for open Exchange Collections.
- Copy an entire course, unit, or lesson from an exchange collection using the copy icon within the course, unit, or lesson title bar. Once you have copied the content choose to add to an existing course of create a new course.
Copy a Course
Create a copy of a course using the settings wheel within a course.
- Select 'Copy Course' to create a new course.
- The new course will need a unique title
- Determine the reach of the new course
- The new course will inherit all of the tags of the copied course. Edit the tags when creating the new course, if necessary.
- The new course will include all units, lessons, and content of the copied course.
- Edit the units, lessons, and content as needed.
